Revolution Recovery was asked to participate in the launch of Philadelphia’s “Smart City, Smart Choice” video contest.  We had a great time putting together this short video that gives some reasons of why we love doing business in Philadelphia.

Revolution on The Grid

The October 2011 issue of Grid Magazine has a focus on construction and demolition material recycling, and the cover story is about Revolution Recovery.  The issue also includes the “greenprint” insert with information on the Delaware Valley Green Building Council’s 2011 Leadership Awards Winners, which Revolution Recovery is honored to be a recipient.  Follow these links to read the online digital edition or to pick up a copy at a location near you.

Constructing the Wissahickon

Germantown Academy is wrapping up the new construction at their campus, where Revolution Recovery has been providing recycling services for the project.  The current installation in their Art Center Gallery is titled “Constructing the Wissahickon” by Leah Frankel. 

Leah came to Revolution Recovery to source materials for the project without knowing some of the materials in our yard are from the Germantown Academy jobsite.  She used reclaimed materials to create a topographical display of the Wissahickon watershed.  The exhibit is up through September 30, 2011; gallery hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.  For more information of the project and the artist, visit Leah Frankel’s blog and website.  

Dumpster Coffin

Revolution Recovery is home to RAIR (Recycled Artist-In-Residency) – a unique non-profit that connects artists with recycled materials.  The first sculpture to be made from start to finish at Revolution Recovery is in an exhibit at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts until September 4, 2011.  Be sure to check out the show and see the Dufala Brothers’ Dumpster Coffin and read about their experience in this City Paper article.

New Website Grows Recycling Business for Philadelphia’s Revolution Recovery

Revolution Recovery, a company dedicated to keeping materials out of landfills, has launched a new website, which they hope will push their construction recycling business to the next level.  In the world of construction debris recycling, attracting one new client significantly helps the environment, and the website clearly educates potential customers on how they give back. Owners Jon Wybar and Avi Golen say of the new site:

“Recycling building and bulk materials can be a complicated process and tough to explain to people who have not visited our facility.  Updating our website allows us to walk visitors through our process, our services and options available for their waste materials.  We are hoping it will serve as a powerful marketing tool, drawing new customers, informing existing clients and getting our name out there.”

With the goal of expanding their business, Revolution Recovery also makes the environment their priority.  The more clients the company has, the more materials stay out of landfills. Says Wybar, “We are very fortunate to have our sustainability goals align with our business goals.  Each load of material we can divert from a traditional landfill and bring to our facility is great for business, good for the economy and helps the environment.”

The site design features eye-catching images on each page to show what Revolution Recovery does.  On the What We Recycle page, images illustrate how each product arrives at the facility, how Revolution Recovery breaks it down, and what it gets turned into.  This aspect clearly shows any potential customer how their waste can give back to the environment.
